Dear God I’m Grateful That Love Drives Out Fear
.
I once heard someone say, “There are only 2 driving emotions: Love or Fear”.
.
We either operate in love, fully executing in our God given purpose, never giving up, always persevering and never losing faith, or we operate in fear, allowing our flesh to determine our next steps.
.
The quote spoke so deeply to me because it simplified my life while also explaining my actions.
.
When I procrastinate or doubt myself, it’s usually because I’m afraid of the outcome and when we I’m on fire and ready to tackle every obstacle, I know that it’s because I feel loved and want to love and serve others.
.
Love has the power to drive out fear and this quote is backed by scripture found in 1 John 4:16-18 NIV:
.
“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”
