Day #366 – New Seasons

Dear God I’m Grateful For New Seasons

.

“Sing a new song to the Lord! Let the whole earth sing to the Lord!”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭96:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

.

I recently learned that in order to prepare for a new season, I had to get rid of old things. I had to be willing leave behind old habits, thought patterns, beliefs, and even traditions. I had to physically get rid of old materialistic items, and I had to prepare space for what God has in store. 

.

The beauty in execution is that you have to be willing to execute (kill off) things that don’t serve you. 

.

In Luke‬ ‭5:37-39‬ ‭NLT‬‬, it says, “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the new wine would burst the wineskins, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. New wine must be stored in new wineskins. But no one who drinks the old wine seems to want the new wine. ‘The old is just fine,’ they say.”

.

Our new season won’t fit into our old season, and we have to be like new wine and be prepared to move into new wine skins. If we’re okay with how things have always been, we won’t be able to see what can be.  

.

So today I’m grateful for the new season I’ve begun to walk into. It’s a shedding process, but I believe the new wine will be well worth the wait.
