Day #307 – Hannah’s Prayer For A Child
Dear God I’m Grateful For Hannah’s Prayer For A Child
.
While I don’t have kids yet, I can already see how motherhood is a true blessing and a gift from God! To co-create a life in whom your love and legacy grows is powerful and just the thought of new life being the result of the process from conception, to pregnancy, to birth, blows my mind.
.
Two days ago, our focus of gratitude was Hannah’s prayer of praise, but I want to take you back to prayer before the praise, Hannah’s prayer to become a mother. I understand deeply how much children are a blessing and I truly honor Hannah for taking her request for motherhood to the Lord.
.
“Hannah was in deep anguish, crying bitterly as she prayed to the Lord. And she made this vow: “O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, if you will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the Lord, his hair will never be cut.” – 1 Samuel 1:10-11 NLT

After years of infertility and being taunted for not being able to have kids, Hannah turned to God in prayer. She vowed that if she could be blessed with a son, she would dedicate him back to God and that is exactly what she did.

“I asked the Lord to give me this boy, and he has granted my request. Now I am giving him to the Lord, and he will belong to the Lord his whole life.” And they worshiped the Lord there.” – 1 Samuel 1:27-28 NLT
.
Hannah is a example of what many women go through. The desire to become mothers runs so deeply within the hearts of many women, and while doctors may say otherwise, God has the final say.
.
Today, I pray for anyone experiencing infertility. I pray that you prepare your hearts posture to serve the Lord and make your requests known to him in prayer. I pray that your womb is blessed and the lives you create are a blessing to the world and I pray that the Lord uses you for his glory and to carry out his will! May your womb be blessed with children who carry on the next generation of believers. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
