Day #253 – An Escape
Dear God I’m Grateful For An Escape
.
The definition of escape is to break free from confinement or control and many of us search for an escape in people, things, places, music, entertainment, and vices. The key to true escape is to break free from CONTROL, and the best escape we can find is in surrendering control to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jesus is an escape because his spirit captivates us, his desires bring us rest and his presence brings us peace.
.
“I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence!”
Psalms 139:7 NLT

Fear of the Lord is a life-giving fountain; it offers escape from the snares of death, so letting our sinful nature control our mind leads to death, but letting the Spirit control our mind leads to life and peace. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.” (Proverbs 14:27 NLT, 2 Romans 8:6,8 NLT )

When we surrender control and spend time in the Word, we develop the ability to practically apply the Word to our lives and gain a sense of freedom through understanding. So I praise the Lord for being a divine escape from our own desires and for taking control to release a mind of peace.
