Dear God I’m Grateful For The Source

According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, the definition of Source can be broken down into four parts and for the purpose of today’s gratitude, I’ll be pairing each definition with corresponding scriptures that confirms that God is our main source to life. Let’s get started:

The definition of source is:

1 : a cause or starting point; the source of a rumor or truth.

“In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.”

2 : the beginning of a stream of water; the source of the Nile River.

“On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.”

3 : someone or something that supplies information; a reference source.

“Dear brothers and sisters, I want you to understand that the gospel message I preach is not based on mere human reasoning. I received my message from no human source, and no one taught me. Instead, I received it by direct revelation from Jesus Christ.” -‭‭ Galatians‬ ‭1:11-12‬ ‭NLT‬

4 : someone or something that provides what is needed a source of supplies a source of strength.

“There I will go to the altar of God, to God—the source of all my joy. I will praise you with my harp, O God, my God!”

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Romans‬ ‭15:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort.”

God is our source of life, truth, hope, joy, comfort and information. He alone is able to fill every void in our lives and his love covers a multitude of our sins for he is the source of salvation and truth.
