Day #210 – Persistent Prayers
Dear God I’m Grateful For Persistent Prayers
.
“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” – Ephesians 6:18 NLT
.
A mentor of mine often says that God knows what you’re asking for when he sees what you’re working for. Our prayers are heard by our Heavenly Father, but we must also put the work in and be persistent in prayer and action.
.
When Jesus taught the disciples how to pray the Lord’s Prayer, he gave them one of the greatest weapons they could use on a daily basis. “Then, teaching them more about prayer, he used this story:

“Suppose you went to a friend’s house at midnight, wanting to borrow three loaves of bread. You say to him, ‘A friend of mine has just arrived for a visit, and I have nothing for him to eat.’ And suppose he calls out from his bedroom, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is locked for the night, and my family and I are all in bed. I can’t help you.’ But I tell you this—though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence.

“And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” – Luke 11:5-10 NLT

This is also the case with us when we pray, for persistent prayers WILL open doors. It’s one thing to pray once and forget about it, but when we are persistent and consistent in our prayer life, we will witness the manifestation of our prayers, build our faith in the process, and receive blessings and gifts that can only come from the power of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
