Day #188 - Strength & Courage - Micayla Robertson

Dear God I’m Grateful For Strength & Courage

When a leader and loved one reaches the end of their life, it’s easy for those under their leadership to give up on the vision. We confuse death with completion, and believe that once someone dies, God’s mission is complete. But when God makes a promise, he keeps it even after death.

God’s vision for repentance, deliverance and salvation doesn’t end when we do, so it’s up to us to prepare the next generation to continue the mission as leaders in Christ.

God promised to deliver the Israelites from the slavery of Egypt, and after the death of Moses, he fulfilled his promise through Joshua. Joshua is a perfect example of carrying on the work of the Lord after the death of a loved one and when charged to lead the Israelites into the promised land, he was instructed by the Lord to have what we ALL need as leaders in Christ: Strength and Courage.

““Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do.

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”” – Joshua‬ ‭1:6-9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

When a loved one dies, don’t give up on the promises of God. Have strength and courage and continue the mission of deliverance for those whom the Lord assigns to you.
