Day #183 - Awareness - Micayla Robertson

Dear God I’m Grateful For Awareness

“Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭4:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

While our focus of gratitude yesterday was the armor of God, I believe it’s just as important to be alert and aware of our thoughts, actions, mindset and environment.

To confirm, Ephesians‬ ‭6:18‬ ‭Warns us to “Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.”

Being alert and having a sense of awareness protects us from being blindsided by the enemy and remaining focused on the Lord. It’s also keeps us on our toes as we build a deeper confidence in Christ.

“Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.” – ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:8-9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

‭‭The devil is out to steal, kill, and destroy our lives and since no one truly knows when our time on this earth will come to an end, it is better for us to stay alert at all times.

““However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows. And since you don’t know when that time will come, be on guard! Stay alert!”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭13:32-33‬ ‭NLT‬‬

So let us guards our hearts and minds and devote ourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.
