Day #170 - Generational Breakthroughs

Dear God I’m Grateful For Generational Breakthroughs

““So the Lord burned with anger against Israel. He said, “Because these people have violated my covenant, which I made with their ancestors, and have ignored my commands, I will no longer drive out the nations that Joshua left unconquered when he died. I did this to test Israel—to see whether or not they would follow the ways of the Lord as their ancestors did.”” – Judges‬ ‭2:20-22‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Do you understand the depth of our prayers and obedience?

We are a product of the those who prayed before us and the work that we put in today will deliver the generations to come, because everyday we are being tested.

The book of Judges‬ ‭2:10-22 describes how each generation was tested to see if they would heed a generational covenant of blessings sent from the Lord or a generational curse due to violating the covenant promised to our ancestors. Those who passed the test received protection and blessing throughout their lifetime, but those who failed, experienced oppression and suffering which was passed down to their children until they were tested. We are being tested to see if we will obey the Lord or anger him by serving others gods.

This wicked world that we live in is so blinded by power and popularity, we fail to notice the generational curses we are up against and how we as a society normalize and associate genetics diseases with familiar habits instead of seeing their connection to curses in our bloodline.

For example: genetic diseases passed down through generations like cancer, depression, and diabetes or toxic traits like pride or lust or greed that we see our parents and grandparents struggle with are curses that lead to temptations, generational sin, and failed tests.

The beauty in breakthrough, is that all curses can be broken. We do not have to become the next in line to suffer from poverty, mental illness, cancer, lust, pride, or [insert your family struggle here]. Through faith, prayer and obedience to Christ, we can cast down these curses in our bloodline and experience a generational breakthrough that passes down generational blessings of health and wealth.
