Day #158 – Childlike Fun

Dear God I’m Grateful For Childlike Fun

.

It’s crazy how the older we get the more our ideas of fun start to change. When we were kids, fun was playing outside, using our imaginations, coloring, building things out of boxes or making tents out of blankets, playing with friends, and just having pure unadulterated fun however it came. 

.

Somewhere over the years, we lost that innocence and fun became going out, partying, getting high, turning up, and relying on substances to numb us as we may or may not recall all events for the night. 

.

Things changed and as a society we lost the childlike fun we used to have. 

.

But today I experienced it again at the San Diego State Fair. From watching pigs race and dogs perform to eating cotton candy, turkey legs, and kettle corn, I was reminded of how fun simplicity and  innocence can be. 

.

Even as adults and balancing our 

responsibilities in life, it’s important that we make time to play and have fun like we did when we were kids. We are children of God and as children we should have childlike faith and childlike fun! 

.
