Day #153 – The Lord’s Prayer

Dear God I’m Grateful For The Lord’s Prayer

.

Yesterday we touched on the intimacy of Prayer and today we are breaking down how to pray. 

.

Matthew 6:9-13 instructs us to “Pray like this: 

.

Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.” 

.

The prayer above is what we know as the Lord’s Prayer and it alone gives honor to our Heavenly Father, calls heaven down to Earth, humbly acknowledges God’s power to provide what we need, grants forgiveness upon ourselves and others, provides repentance from sin, seeks strength to resist temptation and offers salvation from all evil. 

. 

If you ever questioned how to pray or what say, remember that prayer is a simple conversation between you and God. Just open you mouth and talk to him as you would a friend. And if you somehow can’t find the words to say, refer to Matthew 6:9-13 where you can recite the Lord’s Prayer back to Him!
