Day #94 – Justice

Dear God I’m Grateful For Justice

.

“Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent— both are detestable to the Lord.” -‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭17:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

.

A year ago, a man was killed because a police officer kneeled on his neck until he took his last breath. 

.

A year later and for the first time in a long time his murderer was found guilty. Is this Justice or accountability? 

.

On the same day of the verdict for the man, a teenage girl was shot 4 times in the chest by police after calling for help. Yet, within that same year, so many more were murdered by police.

.

“Can unjust leaders claim that God is on their side— leaders whose decrees permit injustice? They gang up against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death. But the Lord is my fortress; my God is the mighty rock where I hide. God will turn the sins of evil people back on them. He will destroy them for their sins. The Lord our God will destroy them.” – Psalms‬ ‭94:20-23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

.

Justice belongs to Jesus. 

.

“The Lord gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭103:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

.

It’s hard to process emotions and protect your peace when death is the forefront of news, but cast your cares on the Lord and he will take care of you. (Psalms 55:22).
