Day #65 – A Quiet Life
Dear God I’m Grateful For A Quiet Life

Over the years, I’ve subscribed to the “Mind Your Business Ministries” and have come to embrace the peace in simplicity and quiet living.
.
The old me spent so much time involving myself in matters that were not my responsibility but in an attempt to help others I believed that it was my place to step in. I struggled with a savior complex and thought that whenever anyone was in trouble, it was my job to save the day, but the truth is, I’m not God and other people’s situations are not mine to solve.

1 Thessalonians 4:11 NLT says to “Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before.”
.
This passage refers to everything we insert ourselves into without being led by God. Whether that be family drama, friendship issues, work drama or all of the above, I’ve come to accept that my input is not required unless personally requested.
.
My focus for 2020 was to be “About My Father’s Business” which required me to mind my own. Learning how to mind my own business and focus on God’s business has been the biggest blessing because I’m no longer drawn to save the world as much as I was, and I’m slowly learning that people will do whatever they want to do and that God is the only one who can help or change them. The only one I’m responsible for is myself and my household, and all I have to do is live a quiet and peaceful life, mind my own business, and let God handle the rest!
