Day #57 – Vision
Dear God I’m Grateful For Vision
.
Why is it that we go above and beyond for others, but we don’t give ourselves, our dreams or our visions the same energy?
.
Today my husband said something so profound yet so simple, it struck me at the core. He said: “The worst thing you can do with a vision is keep it in your mind.”
.
Those words hit home because until today, I had kept so many visions in my mind. I knew how to execute and when to execute, but I usually allowed excuses or fear of failure and success to postpone my vision and delay my actions. I would write the vision down and look at it over and over again, yet I would pursue work or other projects before my own.
.
In my mind, I was okay working for others because I knew that I wouldn’t disappoint them, but when it comes to pursuing my own vision, disappointing myself was one of my biggest fears. Just the thought of being unable to produce something exactly as I saw in my vision would haunt me, so I figured I’d rather not try at all and save myself from failing.
.
But today, I executed. Today I gave 110% and I fulfilled a vision I saw for months. And the craziest part is, I watched the Lord orchestrate the entire day. From the timing, to the weather, all the way down to the people I met and the equipment I needed, everything fell perfectly in place. Not only did I find joy in finally placing action behind my vision, I also realized how others were drawn to act as well by simply observing my obedience.
.
Sometimes, the vision you have isn’t just for you, it’s for the others who are watching you. When it tells us in Habakkuk to write the vision and make it clear so that those who read it can run with it, it’s really saying find clarity in your vision, write it down, act, and people who see you will follow. Faith without works is dead and true vision is executed in your actions. Trust God and the visions he gives you and put in the work. All it takes is one imperfect person to step out in faith to give others permission to do the same.
.
“Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.” – Habakkuk 2:2-3
