Day #50 – Weekend Getaways
Dear God I’m Grateful For Weekend Getaways

This weekend my husband encouraged me to take a break and get away. He planned a weekend trip for relaxation, refocusing, rekindling, and rest.
.
Initially, I couldn’t stop focusing on all of the things on my to-do list. Even though I wanted to go, I struggled to see how a break was going to help me accomplish anything. Once I surrendered and cancelled all the calls, placed all of the work aside, and focused solely on spending time with him, I realized just how much I needed that trip.
.
It not only reminded me of earlier years in our marriage where we would just get in the car and go, but it allowed me to see how much we’ve aged and how quickly time flies. It allowed me to appreciate the man I married and recognize how he anticipates my needs before I do. And it also gave me a chance to see the beauty that God created in this earth and rest my mind.

I’m so grateful for my husband and our weekend getaway. It was an amazing trip, I enjoyed every moment, and now I can go into a new week with a clear mind, ready to tackle this to-do list.

Even when you’re overwhelmed with all that you need to do, God will give you the rest and clarity that you need to get it done.
