Day #47 – Forgiveness

Dear God I’m Grateful For Forgiveness

It’s common for us to offend one another without knowing that we are offending. Offense may seem small, but when it causes emotional pain, it can fester into feelings of resentment and un-forgiveness. 

.

We are called to forgive one another, as Jesus Christ forgave us. 

.

“Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.” – ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

.

Whether it be a small offense or major betrayal, we must keep in mind how Jesus sacrificed his life for us and forgave us for our sins even as people were betraying, offending and physically crucifying him. 

.

“Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” And the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice.” – Luke‬ ‭23:34‬ ‭

.

If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you

‭‭(Matthew‬ ‭6:14‬), but if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. ‭‭(Matthew‬ ‭6:15‬)
