Day #22 – Transformation

Dear God I’m Grateful For Transformation

Romans 12:2 NLT says, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

The NIV version says. “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Transformation in Christ begins with our thoughts. Whether we choose to believe in or deny Christ, it stems from who we think He is and why we think we were placed on this Earth. Our thoughts of Christ can also be influenced by good or false teachings, family, friends, social media, or worldly voices. The issue with influence is, unless our thoughts and our ways are a reflection of what is written in the Bible, then we are simply walking around confused and conforming to the pattern of the world. True transformation requires renewing our minds.

Isaiah 55:8 says, ““For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

How we view this world now is only a partial view of the whole perspective that the Lord has. In order to be transformed in Christ and renew our minds, we must humble ourselves and accept that God is Sovereign, repent and seek his forgiveness, we must read his Word and crucify our flesh daily, and we must allow him to change the way we think. Then we will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
