Day #121 - Community - Micayla Robertson

Dear God I’m Grateful For Community

Community is defined as the feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals. It’s also defined as a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common.

“As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” -Proverbs‬ ‭27:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It’s amazing to be in community with like minded women who love and live for God. Being in community gives us an opportunity to sharpen, encourage and pray for one another through good and challenging times. We also build trust and support for one another in our God-given gifts, and push and celebrate each another when opportunities come.

Community allows us to come together as the body of Christ and build each other up, and have fellowship as we walk with and grow in faith and love. The book of Acts speaks to how believers formed community back in the day:

“All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper ), and to prayer. A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity — all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.” – ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭2:42-47‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I am so grateful for the community God has given me and the community the believers formed in Biblical times! From then until now, it just goes to show how impactful community really is.
