Day #18 - Simplicity - Micayla Robertson

Dear God I’m Grateful For Simplicity

If I learned anything in 2020, it’s that simplicity is a blessing. We are not meant to constantly stress, or be on the go all of the time, or even juggle everything on our plate. Simplicity is God’s way of giving us time to sit back, breathe, and enjoy the world that he has created.

I believe the key to a simple life lies in 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12. It says, “Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before. Then people who are not believers will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others.”

When we live a quiet life we learn to mind our own business and focus on the work that God has given us. By doing this we no longer have a need for dependency and we are obedient to God’s word because these are his instructions. We also draw unbelievers to Christ through our actions and gain respect and favor with both God and man.
