Day #181 – Uncertainty

Dear God I’m Grateful For Uncertainty 

.

It’s common to seek control when we’re uncertain or fear the unknown. Honestly, our minds are wired to protect us from risk, which is why most of us will never take a leap of faith and find contentment in instinctually following fear. 

.

But what is if we embraced uncertainty? 

.

Ecclesiastes‬ ‭11:1-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬ reads, “Send your grain across the seas, and in time, profits will flow back to you. But divide your investments among many places, for you do not know what risks might lie ahead. When clouds are heavy, the rains come down. Whether a tree falls north or south, it stays where it falls. Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest. 

.

Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things. Plant your seed in the morning and keep busy all afternoon, for you don’t know if profit will come from one activity or another—or maybe both.”

.

The beauty in uncertainty is that it requires us to place all of our faith in God. Through faith, nothing is impossible and in time God will reveal the possibilities that he has in store for us. This is why we are instructed to work as unto the Lord in everything that we do, because at the end of the day our uncertainties will become certain and what God has for us will always be for us. 

.

“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.” – Colossians‬ ‭3:23-24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Embrace uncertainty.
