Day #211 – Joy
Dear God I’m Grateful For Joy
.
“Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!” – Philippians 4:4 NLT
.
I honestly believe that happiness is a choice and joy is a result. Although they seem so similar, I’ve come to notice that happiness is temporary and within my control, while joy only comes when I trust God and surrender.
.
I can declare that I will be happy and decide to align my actions with that choice, but joy is something unspeakable that fills you up with an overflow of gratitude, contentment, shock and happiness.

“I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!” – John 15:11 NLT
.
The greatest source of joy is found in Jesus Christ, for His joy is a strength that cannot be weakened and an opportunity when faced with trouble. He holds the power to fill us with joy at all times, and His joy cannot be measured or contained by anyone or anything.
