Day #212 – The Messiah
Dear God I’m Grateful For The Messiah
.
“The woman said, “I know the Messiah is coming—the one who is called Christ. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.” Then Jesus told her, “I Am the Messiah!”” – John 4:25-26 NLT
.
The Messiah was known as the Savior of all people and the Son of the living God. For centuries prophecy spoke of a savior who would be sent by God to deliver his people into salvation.

“Everyone was expecting the Messiah to come soon, and they were eager to know whether John might be the Messiah. John answered their questions by saying, “I baptize you with water; but someone is coming soon who is greater than I am—so much greater that I’m not even worthy to be his slave and untie the straps of his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.”
Luke 3:15-16 NLT

So when Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”
.
Some said John the Baptist, some said Elijah, and others said Jeremiah or one of the other prophets. Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?”
.
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
.
Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being.” (Matthew 16:13-17 NLT)
.
It is only through faith that our eyes can be opened to Jesus Christ, the true Messiah, and our hearts can be changed and drawn to him. As noted in verse 17, this can not be learned from a human, but only by first believing and recognizing God as our Heavenly Father.

“Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God.” – 1 John 4:14-15 NLT
