Dear God I’m Grateful For Character

Who were you before you knew Jesus and who are you now, knowing Jesus? Is there a difference?

While the world defines character as the attributes or features that make up and distinguish or separate an individual; the Bible defines character as who we are because of our relationship with Jesus Christ.

For most, our character pre-Jesus is a lot less holy or righteous than our character post-Jesus. This is typically based on our limited perspective of love, our weakness to temptation and sin, and our lack of freedom spiritually, due to the battles of the flesh. So, when it comes to character, Jesus Christ changes lives.

The qualities and characteristics of godly men and women are those reflective of Jesus because He renews our minds and leads us to salvation through how we imitate him. Though our character will grow and develop the more we live, move, and grow in Him, it ultimately can be measured by how we share his love with others in actions and speech.

I am grateful that who I am post-Jesus is centered in pointing people back to Jesus because at the end of the day, salvation in him is all we’ll ever need.
