Dear God I’m Grateful For My Why

I believe we all have a purpose for our lives and reason or “Why” behind what we do!

Whether our purpose is to love, encourage, sharpen, teach, inspire, motivate, help, or serve others, our “why” is why we wake up everyday willing to put in the work needed to fulfill our mission and goals.

While listening to a podcast today, the guest spoke of a concept she created called “the fifth why” where she reaches a deeper level of gratitude by asking herself why five times.

For example:

I recorded this episode today for you to listen.

Why?

Because I wanted to encourage you with an expression of gratitude.

Why?

Because I believe gratitude moves us to live a more fulfilled life.

Why?

Because it brought me fulfillment and changed how I see and appreciate my life.

Why?

Because it reminded me to reflect on, remember, and share all of the amazing things God does for me.

Why?

Because it keeps me from being ungrateful and teaches me to keep track of how truly blessed I am.

When we exercise “the fifth why” we ultimately reach the root of why we believe what we believe and do the things we do.

We all have a “why” in which God provided our reasoning. At the core, He is my why.

That is why I can never stop praising Him and I declare His glory all day long. (Psalms‬ ‭71:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬)
