Day #296 – Honesty
Dear God I’m Grateful For Honesty
.
So often we value honesty from others but we struggle to be honest with ourselves. We hold onto relationships that hurt us, we stay in positions or places that bring us down, we do things that don’t bring us joy, and yet we expect others to be honest with us.
.
What would happen if you spent 30 days being honest with yourself?
.
What would happen if you said no to things you know you hate or took time off to rest when you know how much you need it? What would happen if you told others how you truly felt and made decisions based on your boundaries instead of the boundaries others place on you? What would happen if you were honest with yourself?
.
Luke 16:10 NLT says, “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.”
.
We often take this scripture and focus only on how our small opportunities will bring us greater ones or how a little white lies will equate to large lies. While this is one interpretation, when we flip the mirror on ourselves in reference to this verse, we’ll realize that being faithful to who God created us to be and honest with who we are and the desires the Lord placed in our hearts, is really where we receive more opportunities.

It’s where we receive more peace and stop trying living someone else’s life. It’s where we step into our God given purpose and give up expectations that are projected onto us. God didn’t make a mistake when he made me or you, so why are lying to ourselves and trying to be something or someone we’re not. It’s time to be honest with ourselves.
