Day #301 – The Women Who Followed Jesus

Dear God I’m Grateful For The Women Who Followed Jesus

“Soon afterward Jesus began a tour of the nearby towns and villages, preaching and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom of God. He took his twelve disciples with him, along with some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases. 

.

Among them were Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons; Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s business manager; Susanna; and many others who were contributing from their own resources to support Jesus and his disciples.” – Luke‬ ‭8:1-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

.

The reason I love this passage is because it mentions the women who followed Jesus. 

.

All of these women received healing and deliverance! Mary Magdalene received deliverance from 7 demons and chose to follow Christ, Joanna was a business manager who left her position of power to follow Christ, as so did Susanna and others. Although we don’t know how many others, we see here that these women contributed from their own resources to support Jesus and his disciples.

.

To be a woman in that time, was a lot different from today because women had  very little authority over their lives. But these women chose to follow the authority figure himself and give what they had to serve to the Lord!
