Day #34 – The Way
Dear God I’m Grateful For The Way
I can’t help but imagine what life would be like if Jesus never came to redeem us? How miserable life would be… How sad we would be… How stuck we would be in our own ways or consumed in all of our sins…
When we look back at Adam and Eve and the fall of mankind, we suffered the curse that came with sin and passed it down from generation to generation. Because of sin, we lost our way to our Heavenly Father and it wasn’t until one man, one savior, Jesus Christ came to redeem us that we gained a way back to God.
John 14:1-7 reads,
“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going.”
“No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!”
I am so grateful that Jesus became our way, our truth and our life. He not only forgave mankind for all sin, but he became our way to salvation by selflessly giving up his life so that we can have life abundantly. Jesus is the only way back to the Father, so may we learn more about him daily, may we place our trust in Him alone, and may we one day meet him on the way to the place that he has prepared for us.
