Day #368 - Ease - Micayla Robertson

Dear God I’m Grateful For Ease

We move out of our apartment this weekend and today my husband told me that his goal is to make this move as easy as possible for me.

He took it upon himself to hire movers, packed a lot of our belongings and encouraged me to focus and get ahead on the work that God has given me.

After watching me struggle to help him carry our couch during our last move, he made up in his mind that I would never have to do that again. Mind you, I have no problem helping and actually really want to, but he insists that when it comes to anything that’s difficult for me, his goal is ease the situation.

The Bible talks about marriage being a ministry and often compares it to how love should be between Us (the church or the bride) and our Lord, Jesus Christ (our bridegroom).

Just as I anticipate my husbands needs and love him, he also anticipates my needs and steps in to make things easy for me. We serve each other. He doesn’t want to see me struggle and the Lord doesn’t want to see us struggle.

“In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself. No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church. And we are members of his body. As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one.” – Ephesians‬ ‭5:28-32‬ ‭NLT‬‬
