Day #37 - Support - Micayla Robertson

Dear God I’m Grateful For Support

The other day, I told my husband that I believe in his dreams and the Holy Spirit had to check me. The question that came to my spirit was:

“How can you believe in something that you don’t support?”

Although I’m always by my husband’s side supporting him emotionally, I honestly lack when it comes to physical support. My husband is a Youtuber and a Gaming Entertainer (IronAngel on Youtube…shameless plug ;)) and even though I encourage him to keep creating and pursuing his dream, I fail to watch his videos or engage in his online content. He plays, edits, produces, and posts 2-4 videos EVERYDAY and although I know the HARD work and LONG hours that goes into making each video, I use the excuse of not liking video games to validate my lack of support.

Support looks different for everyone, but I believe that for me, support means showing up.

When he says that he supports me, he physically shows up and allows his presence to speak for him. He may not be into what I’m doing, but he shares it with everyone he knows because he understands the work and passion that I put into it. That’s the kind of support that I’ll be showing him moving forward and that’s the kind of support that we all need to show Jesus.

How can we say we believe in Jesus, when we don’t support his word?

We don’t obey his commandments, we don’t live righteously, we don’t love each other the way he instructs us to love, and we don’t show up and spend time with him.

Support means showing up and the Holy Spirit had every right to check me because I had to humble myself and change. When it comes to what you claim to believe in, how do you show up and support?

“The Lord supports the humble, but he brings the wicked down into the dust.” – Psalms 147:6
