Day #385 – Prophets
Dear God I’m Grateful For Prophets
.
There have been many prophets in my life who have given me hope for the future in the message they delivered. From marriage to motherhood and everything in between, I have always valued those who are true prophets of God, who deliver a word from the Lord with honesty and transparency.
.
Samuel is an amazing example of a Godly prophet. His mother Hannah longed for a child and promised that is the Lord blessed her with a son, she would give him back to God. Hannah kept her promise and Samuel grew up under the leadership of Eli where he learned to serve the Lord, grew in favor with God, and was able to hear directly from the Lord messages and warnings of the future.

“Samuel stayed in bed until morning, then got up and opened the doors of the Tabernacle as usual. He was afraid to tell Eli what the Lord had said to him. But Eli called out to him, “Samuel, my son.” “Here I am,” Samuel replied. “What did the Lord say to you? Tell me everything. And may God strike you and even kill you if you hide anything from me!”

So Samuel told Eli everything; he didn’t hold anything back. “It is the Lord’s will,” Eli replied. “Let him do what he thinks best.”
.
As Samuel grew up, the Lord was with him, and everything Samuel said proved to be reliable. And all Israel, from Dan in the north to Beersheba in the south, knew that Samuel was confirmed as a prophet of the Lord. The Lord continued to appear at Shiloh and gave messages to Samuel there at the Tabernacle.”

The Lord speaks to prophets and shares with them a message or warning of what is to come. While many who claim to be prophets are false, there are those who truly here from God and deliver his messages, and for them, I am grateful for!
