Day #55 – Refuge
Dear God I’m Grateful For Refuge

There is power in the word: Refuge
.
It is defined as someone or something providing shelter or a condition of being safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger, or trouble.
.
In today’s world we fear what we don’t understand and find safety in our ignorance. We place our hope in people and rely on human beings for protection, but true safety true refuge can only be found in God. He is our creator and knows how all of our lives will play out before we were in our mother’s womb. He sees all, knows all, hears all and he’s watching over everything and everyone. There is no weapon he can not defeat and no evil he does not see, which is why finding refuge in God is the safest place that we can be.

Psalms 91: 9-16 says, “If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet! The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”

He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge.” – Psalms 62:5-8 NLT
