Day #56 - Contentment - Micayla Robertson

Dear God I’m Grateful For Contentment

Contentment has taken so many forms in my life, but there is personally one life changing situation that taught me the importance of being content. That situation was in 2018 when I lost focus of God’s will for my life.

I became consumed with comparison and looking at others to determine my worth. In the midst of my darkness I turned my own ministry into someone else’s dream just because I couldn’t see the value in the gift that I was blessed with. In that moment the Lord told me to be content. I learned that for me contentment meant focusing on “content-meant to encourage and inspire people in Christ.”

Being content means being okay with what God is giving us now and using our gifts and time wisely. So learn from me and in every situation find contentment in Christ. Find meaning in relationships, habits, mindsets, and work, and be okay with your current season even when it doesn’t look like others.

“For I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” – Philippians‬ ‭4:11-13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

True godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. ‭‭(1 Timothy‬ ‭6:6-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬)
