Day #67 – Humility
Dear God I’m Grateful For Humility
.
A couple years ago Kendrick Lamar released a song called “Humble” and it went viral. People everywhere we’re telling each other to “sit down” and “be humble” and the song was a hit; but the message of humility is so much bigger than Kendrick.
.
The Bible warns us of the dangers of pride and encourages us to humble ourselves before God.
.
“Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us. Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.” – Romans 12:3-5 NLT

We are called to have the same attitude of Christ (Philippians 2:5 NLT), not being selfish or try to impress others, but humbling ourselves and thinking of others as better than ourselves. (Philippians 2:3 NLT). We are called to be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of the love of Christ and to always be humble and gentle.
(Ephesians 4:2 NLT).

The Bible says that those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted (Matthew 23:12 NLT). So, humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor (1 Peter 5:6 NLT).

It’s time to learn to live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people and don’t think you know it all (Romans 12:16 NLT). When we “sit down” and embrace humility before God we shift the atmosphere because we give God space to come into our lives, to heal our land, and to restore all that we have lost.

“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.” – 2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT

It’s time to “sit down” and “be humble”
