Day #75 – Spiritual Healing
Dear God I’m Grateful for Spiritual Healing
.
It’s heartbreaking to hear so many people turning away from the Christian faith due to church hurt.
.
Spiritual attack has been happening within the body of Christ since Jesus walked the Earth, and unfortunately it still happens today. The very people who should be loving and reflecting Christ, turnaround and manipulate others with the Word of God for their own personal gain and although the enemy has been using Church hurt to deter people from God for years, his tactics are no longer a secret, as we have been given forgiveness through Christ to overcome all hurt and pain.
.
Over the years, I’ve learned that hurt people hurt people. Too many within the body of Christ are carrying past pain that they haven’t completely released, so whether intentionally or unintentionally they project their hurt on others as a distraction from their own pain. This is why Jesus warns us not to place our faith in people because people will disappoint us, but to place our faith in God alone.
.
“Don’t put your confidence in powerful people; there is no help for you there. When they breathe their last, they return to the earth, and all their plans die with them. But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the Lord their God.” – Psalms 146:3-5 NLT
.
But I am grateful for the reconciliation and forgiveness that takes place when we fully accept Christ. When we forgive others, we release the hold others have carried over us and we enter into a place where healing and rebuilding trust can officially begin. Spiritual healing is important because it rekindles our faith, but consider how much stronger we would be if every man and woman of God used the Word of God to heal instead of hurt and hate one another.
.
“Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.” – Colossians 3:12-13 NLT
