Day #76 – Good Friday
Dear God I’m Grateful For Good Friday

Today on Good Friday, we remember the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The death of a pure and perfect man who dedicated his ministry to loving, teaching, and leading as many people as he could to repentance.
.
On this Friday, he faced persecution from religious leaders who were threatened by his influence and authority. Their motive to frame him for breaking Jewish laws was sent to trial, and by rulers and kings he was still found innocent in the sight of the law. While believers and unbelievers mocked him and ridiculed him, the rulers saw no reason while Jesus should be sentenced to the death penalty, but after the crowd grew angry for his decision he left it up to the people to decide Jesus’ fate.

Their verdict was to have him crucified in exchange for the life of a murderer and following this verdict, Jesus was beaten, whipped, spat on, kicked, tortured, and hung on cross before the crowd, as they watched and waited until he took his last breath.

The people who framed him where religious people and the people who wanted him crucified were mostly followers of religious law. They were blinded and their hearts were hardened, but even in the midst of his mistreatment and crucifixion, Jesus still asked God to forgive them for their ignorance and sin.

If you’re wondering where the “Good” part comes in, since this is Good Friday. The horrendous actions that took place on Friday, led to the greatest miracle that took place on Sunday with the resurrection of Christ. Friday marked his death. A death that brought eternal life to all who believe and a death that spread forgiveness upon a deceitful land. It is because of his death, his life, and his resurrection that we have been forgiven and can enter into salvation where we can be reunited with our brother Jesus Christ.
