Day #82 – Service
Dear God I’m Grateful For Service
.
“The greatest among you must be a servant.” – Matthew 23:11 NLT
.
Service is one of the most underrated forms of worship that we can give to God and others. Simply by humbling ourselves and surrendering to God’s plan for our lives, we enter into a position of service, willing executing a role or task to help someone else. In order to lead we must first serve and reflect Jesus Christ who dedicated his life to service.

“But Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.””
Matthew 20:25-28 NLT

Another word for serve is to deliver, supply, distribute, provide, and to give. Jesus delivered us from sin, supplied us with eternal life, distributed the Holy Spirit among his people, and provided all of our needs. He has given us spiritual gifts so that we can serve him, and gave up his life so that we can be saved.

“God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.”
.
Embrace the call to serve one another in reverence for Christ and in love for each other.

“For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.”
